Electric Snowmobile Team

For the past five years, the Electric Snowmobile Team has built a zero-emission, all-electric snowmobile to compete at the international SAE Clean Snowmobile Challenge in Michigan in March. The winning entries are used in Greenland to help perform valuable atmospheric research, all without affecting the sensitive data with even the smallest of emissions.

Academic program demise

The results of the academic program review prescribed by the state Coordinating Board of Higher Education (CBHE) are in, and the prognosis is grim for 10 undergraduate degree programs and one education specialist program.The CBHEs investigation of low-producing programs uncovered 16 undergraduate majors that have failed to produce an average of 10 or more graduates per year in the past three years.

A new season brings new expectations, new players and a new attitude. Just ask the football team. After last seasons disappointing 5-6 (5-3) finish, Coach Dean Hood and the Colonel players had their sights set on rebounding and capturing a second OVC title in the past three years.

“To be honest, the past four days have been the most fun days Ive had as a university president.” Those were the words of UCMs new president, Charles Ambrose, Ed.D., on Aug. 4 – four days into his reign as UCMs top administrator.In the past two weeks, Ambrose has been settling in, meeting campus administrators, faculty and staff, and making plans for the new school year.
