The May Gallery opened this weekend featuring an exhibition of Peruvian photographer Jorge Veras photos of public places without people. Veras exhibition, “urbanismo,” features 16 images shot in various locations over eight years, beginning in 2002. Veras love for photography began when he was 16 living with his family in Lima, Peru.

The mosquitoes and public were buzzing on 10th and Bancroft Streets as dusk fell on Aug. 5, hovering around Bancroft Street Market to catch glimpses of a UNO exhibition that showed for one night only.Passers-by on Thursday night were drawn into the gallery, their attention caught by the three, five-minute window films that were projected onto the buildings windows.
