Congress has just a few weeks left to make decisions for the federal budget for fiscal year 2011. While there are many important priorities, the future of nearly 300,000 low-income children depending on Head Start also deserves critical attention.

While the football team might be struggling on the field, Rice athletics retains its dominance in the classroom with the release of the most recent student- athlete graduation success rates. The annual study of student-athlete graduation rates by the National Collegiate Athlete Association placed Rice sixth of 120 NCAA Division I-A schools in the nation, according to both the NCAAs graduation success rate and the federal graduation rate released in an online NCAA report two weeks ago.

There are 12 regional banks in the Federal Reserve System, and these banks have been able to operate outside of government control for the past 97 years. This can be a good or a bad thing, depending upon your viewpoint or your ethnic origin.
